An original reflection quiz from Edtech.Careers. These suggestions are starting points for research, not a scientific assessment of your personality or ability.
Start with the work you want to do
A career change out of teaching is a chance to ask what you want more of, and what you want less of. Being good at classroom management does not mean you want a career full of difficult conversations. Enjoying lesson planning may point toward curriculum work, learning design, or something else entirely.
Use this quiz as a starting point for introspection. Your results connect preferences to everyday work, then give you a small experiment to try before investing in training. Read the role guides, compare job descriptions, and speak with someone in the field to check your assumptions.
Edtech career paths you can explore
Each path involves different work and may require additional experience. You can read about every option, regardless of your quiz results.

What career can I pursue after teaching?
Educators can explore curriculum development, instructional design, customer success, professional learning, implementation, product management, and education sales or partnerships. Which path is worth pursuing depends on the work you enjoy, the experience you can demonstrate, and what employers require. This quiz helps you choose a few paths to research.
Is this a personality assessment?
This is an original career reflection quiz about work preferences. It is not the Myers-Briggs assessment, a Big Five inventory, or a scientifically validated personality test. It asks how much you would enjoy specific activities rather than assigning you a personality type.
How are my career suggestions chosen?
The 24 questions cover eight areas of work, with three questions in each area. We average your answers within each area and weight those preferences against common responsibilities in seven edtech career paths. The connections are editorial judgments informed by our career guides. Results explain the activities you liked and potential mismatches. Close results are treated as alternatives to compare, not proof of one best career.
Is the quiz and its results really free?
Yes. The quiz and all results are free. At the end, we invite you to create a free EdTech Careers account. You can also choose to go straight to your results. The job board has its own access options, separate from this free tool.
Will the quiz tell me whether I qualify for a job?
No. Interest in a role is different from readiness to apply. Each result includes experience to build and a small activity you can try. Compare your background with current job descriptions, and talk to people doing the work before committing to a course or a career change.
What if my results do not sound like me?
You can review your answers, retake the quiz, or set aside a suggestion to see another path. If none of the activities appeal to you, consider exploring careers outside edtech too. Your own judgment matters more than a quiz result.
Turn your reflection into a plan
Choose one or two paths to research, note the experience you already have, and identify a small project that will help you learn whether you enjoy the work.
